[/color]” he said with another slight smile, not too sure if she’d actually seen him or not… but whatever.
Cadence smiled slightly as he walked into the Starbucks. He’d just gotten out of his last lesson of the day a while ago and wanted to get out of the dorm while working on homework. Starbucks was his first choice. It was warm, semi-quiet, and he could get coffee. It was definitely a win place. Plus, a quick look around the place showed him none of his friends were around. He’d been avoiding them lately with his parents’ upcoming visit. He groaned internally when he realized they’d be there the next day. It would be so bad if he didn’t have to think up lies to tell his dad (yes, he had a girlfriend or yes, there was some girl he liked). Knowing he’d have to come up with the lies put him on edge and tended to make him snap at people more than usual, which was why he was avoiding his friends. He didn’t want to say something he didn’t mean or accidentally hurt someone. Plus, every one of them would ask what was wrong, and he so didn’t need to go there. He’d never once lied to his friends. Avoiding the truth, sure, but that was something else entirely. Taking off the beanie he’d worn that day, he made his order and messed with his static-y hair a bit before paying. When he got the cup that was hot to the touch, he found an empty table at the front near the windows so he could sit in the pale, sunlight that remained that day. That was something he liked about the time of year it was. Cade could live without the cold, though. He pulled out the book he needed for his art history and the worksheet he had to fill out and sighed. He hated assignments that included reading and writing. It took him forever and sometimes he had to call up his tutor to help. Brushing his dark bangs out of his face, he resumed where he’d quit reading earlier. The teen sat there, quietly sounding out the words as he tried to correctly read the text before him. Cadence had problems differentiating the spacing between the words and often saw it wrong to where letters from one word seemed to be in the one next to it instead of where it should be. After a while, he became frustrated with it and shut his book with a flick of his wrist, sinking down a little in his chair as he crossed one arm over his chest and grabbed his coffee with the other. I’m never going to get this, the dark haired boy thought as he took a drink of the then-cold-coffee and pulled a face before setting it aside. He hadn’t realized he’d been trying to get through the small chapter that long. Cade sighed again, focusing on the table top before looking up when he sensed someone near-by. He then smiled slightly when he saw who it was. Shell was one of his best friends even though she was older; he loved her to pieces and he also loved that she had no problem putting him in his place or knocking him upside the head when he was being an ass. “Hey, Shell,
